On the Altar Between Us
Today is a sacred day in the Mayan Sacred Calendar. And I wasn’t going to mention it because I’m deep in listening mode and still a student of this ancient wisdom.
And yet, its power could help you in WORK and LIFE today. So here goes…
Today is 13 Ajmak. It is a powerful day for reconciliation and forgiveness with both the living and the ancestors.
Given that we’re in the trecena (cycle) of K’at, which represents the net, this energy helps you forgive in order to gather the harvest or abundance, also known as the sweetness of life.
I know that sounds wild but—Stick with me here.
This is a gift of a day for you.
Often, the burdens and pain you carry in your life and work—you know, the STUFF you bring to the office, the STUFF you dump on your partner—sometimes that heaviness is not your own.
The energy of pain patterns persist through generations. It is imbued in your DNA, in your cells.
When you lash out at a family member or over-react with a colleague, that may be generations of pain persisting through your body, your being, your behavior.
And there may be generations of pain persisting through their body, too.
And, you know, the more I heal and hear my soul, the more I engage with my ancestors, the more I realize that we’re all connected at the soul level.
So family of origin is one level of existence but, in perpetuity, we are all soul family.
Your boss, your mailman, the dude who cut you off in traffic—We are all soul family.
And the more we acknowledge and release our pain, the better we can show up for our most vital relationships.
Here is my invitation to you:
If this resonates with you, I invite you to consider whether there is some reconciliation you wish to make with anyone in your life or EVERYONE in your life, living and passed.
My Mayan spiritual teacher says that this is a day to bring sweetness into life by perhaps saying any of these things to someone or just aloud—
I’m sorry
Please forgive me
Thank you
I love you
And by doing so on this day, you bring sweetness to your own life.
You help to clear the proverbial decks.
You release some guilt, blame, or shame so you may move more freely in the world.
And even if it sounds to woo to you, does it hurt to try it??
This is the invitation I lay on the altar between us.
Type your offering in the comments so that it may be heard and resonated in all dimensions. Or whisper it aloud and leave a heart on this post to signify your offering.
And so it is.
