Notes on Eclipse Season
Today is Friday, or Venus Day. Venus Day rarely feels typical during eclipse season. Except that I'm making it so, as much as possible, because I get to choose.
I'm on the road to Austin, Texas. Instead of pushing through or finding my way around Hurricane Helene as quickly as possible, I heard the soul ask me to welcome in softness, ease, a slower pace. So I decided to stay put in one place and steep in stillness.
You see, during eclipse season, this time of transition of the planet, this time of wildness in the earthly plane, this time of loss and frustration, there is so much grief. And I needed a moment to rest and be with it.
Last weekend, I held a Cacao Ceremony and the amount of grief that surfaced among the 20 of us was tough and beautiful to witness. Some expressed their grief honestly. Some sat above the grief, trying to be brave or make a joke. All is allowed.
As we approach next week's New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries on Wednesday, October 2, you are welcoming in a new beginning (if you're doing it right, if you're allowing it). The shift you allow (or try to resist) is your soul's destiny. Allow, allow, allow.
Remember, all is well, even when it's not well. The next part of your life story is unfolding. Your only job is to allow it, and to grieve whatever surfaces through the allowing.
Can you do that?
Today is 12 Tijax
I love 12 days. In the Mayan Sacred Calendar, the sacred number 12 is about allowing the totality of your life's experience to power this day. And when 12 is matched with the warrior-healer energy of Tijax, it is strong.
Tijax is about healing. On this day, I invite you to allow the memoir of your life, the knowledge and wisdom, to support your healing, to give you the strength to cut away what is no longer serving you. Tomorrow, we will wash it all way but today we feel it, allow it, release it.
I promise you, there are stories from your life that are no longer offering you any value and may, in fact, be holding you back from your soul's destiny. Bring healing to your body, mind, and soul by carving them out of your psyche and emerging anew tomorrow.
Tomorrow is 13 Kawok
In the Mayan Sacred Calendar, Kawok is the energy of the midwife, the feminine energy that guides in the newness, the newness that is you.
Kawok is represented by the rain, the water that flows and washes away what was cut by Tijax on the day prior. I adore this combo of energy in the Mayan Sacred Calendar.
Tijax cuts and Kawok refreshes, renews, and blesses the past while surfacing the new you. Combined with the sacred number 13, you will feel the ancestors present today. They are present to help you open up to the fullest version of your expression.
It's, no doubt, a tender combination of energy. And also, I feel most alive when the spirit world merges with me. I feel like love is moving through me. I hope you feel that love as you allow them to support your emergence today.
I always sit with Cacao on 13 days. Before I sip, I call in the ancestors and offer them gratitude. I drink my Cacao. Thirty minutes later, I ask my sweet soul for any messages. Undoubtedly, the ancestors weave in their guidance, too. Try it.
